Opening Remarks

Why am I Blogging?

My favorite pass time has been reading News...Any news....but not the page3 kind (I simply cannot tolerate that). I can read, politics, art, culture, science, history, geography, sports, economy...almost anything.

Now, that doesnot mean I remember everything that I read and can throw examples and statistics on any subject that is discussed in social circles. (Other day I just couldnot defend Sachin Tendulkar with statistics on an argument if he plays for records or for himself...anyways!). And then I wonder whats the use in reading so many news and so much information on the internet when I cannot use it in arguments.
But then, its never been my intention to be come an encyclopedia on a particular subject...nor do I need to impress others with the size of database stored in my brain and how fast I can retrieve data out of it.

What I really do is form my opinions about a subject. The premis on which I form these opinions soon are lost forgotten...but the opinions or impressions are everlasting and as I hear, learn or read more on the subject I correct my opinions or strengthen my position about the subject.
Its an attempt to blog about these opinions / impressions that I have about anything thats going around and justify my understanding. It will be an attempt to come out in open about with my true feelings when we discuss the world around us in this blog. It will be a sincere attempt to keep my mind open to any suggestions, comments on my blog and correct any of my understanding.

Our earlier generation used to say...if you crossed 40, you have seen the world! You would then have the right to preach...not before you turn 40. I am now just 5 years from turning 40 but I still feel I haven't seen enough...I am still learning, changing my opinions. The moment I fix my views on something, I see something new hitting me and forcing me to re-think. I really wonder if things will change in next 5 years. Or is it that at 40 people awaken to realize that theres no end to this pursuit of knowing everything perfectly well so as to form a definite point of view...and never try to preach since you can never be damn sure about anything.

But I will keep my attempts going on as long as my spirits are high and share my views...not preach them.

I hope you enjoy blogging with me.
